PRESS CONFERENCE
HEIRSPAC, NATIONAL ACTION NETWORK, COMMUNITY LEADERS AND MEMBERS OF THE BOSTIC FAMILY TO ANNOUNCE FILING OF POLICE ACCOUNTABILITY BALLOT MEASURES IN INGLEWOOD
Coalition Launches Campaign for Police Transparency, Independent Oversight, and Accountability Ahead of the 2028 Olympics

WHAT:
HEIRSPAC, the National Action Network, community leaders, civil rights advocates, and members of the Bryan Bostic family will hold a press conference announcing the filing of two proposed ballot initiatives designed to strengthen transparency, accountability, and public oversight within the Inglewood Police Department.
The measures include:
• The Bryan Bostic Police Transparency and Accountability Act
• The Inglewood Police Commission Authority and Accountability Amendment

Together, the initiatives seek to establish mandatory body-worn cameras, public disclosure requirements following critical incidents, independent auditing, and a civilian Police Commission with authority to oversee police accountability and leadership.

WHEN:
Thursday, June 18, 2026
10:00 AM

WHERE:
Inglewood City Hall
One Manchester Boulevard
Inglewood, California 90301
Front Steps / Public Plaza

WHY:
Supporters say the measures are necessary to ensure that no family is left without answers following critical incidents involving law enforcement.
The proposed initiatives would:
• Require body-worn cameras during all law enforcement encounters
• Establish accountability standards when body camera footage is missing or not activated
• Require public release of body camera footage within fifteen (15) days of critical incidents
• Require annual independent audits of police practices
• Create an independent civilian Police Commission with authority to appoint, evaluate, and remove the Chief of Police
• Establish independent investigations, subpoena authority, and public accountability reporting
Supporters believe these reforms will help strengthen accountability and position Inglewood as a national leader in transparency and accountability as the City prepares to welcome visitors from around the world during FIFA events and the 2028 Olympic Games.

Just-Us is the current motto the police force is exercising by protecting themselves. Public transparency should validate the integrity of the very agency who assume responsibility for protecting and serving its people. Those who pledge to be accountable for life and safety also pledge to exercise moral and value. Please help us restore proper Justice in our communities.

If this matter had taken its appropriate steps we wouldn’t be here ! The release of footage from squad cars or statements from police chief and or officers then maybe we wouldn’t need to go this far but we’re here and Bryan’s Death is just one of many, and here it stops we need to make the proper moves get the right people in charge so no one has to witness what we have during this fatal moment . - Juice
